Transylvania Tripel | West Sixth Brewing
ABV: 9.8%
Style: Belgian Tripel
Actively Produced
Description: Our take on the classic Belgian style, this beer is big and sweet with notes of honey and showcases a complex spice and ester flavors derived from Belgian yeast. The grain bill gives off bready notes while the hops lend and herbal effervescence. This one is an ode to our neighbor, Transylvania University. HOPS: Liberty MALTS: Pilsner, Abbey YEAST: Belgian Ale The beer will be release as a prelude to Transylvania University’s alumni weekend on April 25th in the West Sixth Brewing taproom on 6th street, and will be available on draft and in 4-packs through West Sixth’s distribution area. “This beer has a special place in our heart” said West Sixth Creative Director, and Transylvania alumni Kelly Hieronymus. “We actually crowd-sourced its name by allowing our fans online to name the beer when we first brewed it in 2011. After much debate, they decided on the name Transylvania Tripel, a testament to how many Transy and West Sixth fans were in our community.” “We have a strong group of Transy alumni that hold key roles at West Sixth”, said Ben. “It only seemed fitting to honor them, and the rest of the alumni with a beer in their name.”
