The Seven Year Itch, A Farmer's Resilience | Two Metre Tall
ABV: 5.1%
Style: Sour - Other
Out of Production
Description: Ten years ago we embarked on a brewing project on our farm in the Derwent Valley. With a winemaker’s vision, we started to brew and sell our farmhouse ales to an inexperienced marketplace who had never seen anything like our ales before. Suffice to say some of the criticism was brutal and we held onto cartons of bottled ale, unable to bring ourselves to tip them into the ‘still‘ and then down the throat of our cattle. Instead it sat in a shed, maturing and developing great complexity. So after 7 years ‘hanging in there’ we are now releasing this ale to the market. It has been decanted into oak barrels prior to re-fermenting in 750ml bottles. It is a true celebration of our innovation, our belief in what we were doing and our resilience to ride the rough times. The ‘itch’ refers to our eagerness to release this very special Tasmanian Farmhouse Ale after 7 long years of ageing.
