Pig's Lemonade | Reaver Beach Brewing Company
ABV: 4.9%
IBU: 40
Style: Kvass
Actively Produced
Description: Collaboration with Commonwealth Brewing: "Pig's Lemonade", a Kvass-style ale brewed with locally made rye bread from the Bakehouse at Chelsea. Pig's Lemonade is light and refreshing, dry-hopped with lemony Sorachi Ace and pungent Mosaic hops, and conditioned with fresh lemon zest. The beer's name comes from Kvass' Eastern European origins. In Tolstoy's 'War and Peace', French soldiers deride the Russian peasants by referring to them as "pigs", and their drink of choice (Kvass) as "pig's lemonade". We used this as inspiration for giving the beer a light body and lemon character. 4.9% ABV, 40 IBUs.
