Earle's Revolver | Panhead Custom Ales

ABV: 6.5%
Style: Smoked Beer

Description: The Dominion's first editor, Charles Westwood Earle, was a robust reflection of the new paper's conservative philosophy. During the great strike of 1913 he cheerfully made an enemy of protesting workers, colluded with the Police and backed the Massey government's crackdown to the hilt. The struggle seems to have turned him slightly paranoid as he kept a loaded revolver in his desk in the event the “reds” came after him. Despite this, Earle was a first rate newspaperman and remained involved with The Dominion until his death in 1950.
