Description: This Baltic Porter Style Beer was named for our lifelong friend, Kurt Oja. Kurt's parents immigrated to Iowa from Estonia, a Baltic State, during WWII. They settled in Cedar Rapids and raised two sons, Matt and Kurt grew up proud of their Estonian heritage. Kurt passed away in 2014 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. We are honored to name this great beer...Oja. This version has been aged in both 5-year reserve bourbon and single malt whiskey barrels from our friends at Cedar Ridge Distilling. Aged for a period of 6-months to impart a slight hint of vanilla and almond to this robustly flavorful beer, rounded out by dark fruit and a bit of chocolate and coffee.
