Description: A twist on our traditional hefe-weizen and is the culmination of five different formulations from both downtown and the Hilldale Great Dane. We began with our classic recipe (i.e. Crop Circle) but changed the pils base malt to Munich malt, thus adding a malty/bready sweetness. We also added four different types of caramel malts that showcase their variety of caramel malts currently produced by maltsters around the world. The robust caramel character blends very nicely with the typical banana/clove esters from the weizen yeast, resulting in a balanced yet complex flavor profile befitting the noble German brewing tradition.
