Description: In 1873, Heinrich Frankenheim founded a brewery in the heart of the historic city center of Düsseldorf and called it “Zum Falken” (“The Falcon”). This was the beginning of a special beer, the “Frankenheim Alt”. The top-fermented lager specialty known as “Altbier” was so well received that a short while later another brewery was built on Wieland Street in Düsseldorf. In the coming years, Frankenheim Alt became the most consumed Altbier in Düsseldorf and the Rhineland region.
