Keserű Méz | Fóti Kézműves Sörfőzde
ABV: 6.0%
Style: Lager - Pale
Actively Produced
Description: „Keserű Méz” – meaning Bitter Honey, inspired by the infamous Polanski-movie, Bitter Moon – is a strong, unfiltered, unpasteurized lager from the Fót Brewery. It is bright yellow and opaque, with a thick white head. It’s bisquity, floral-honey sweetness, and its fruitiness resembling melon and mango are all work to hide the brutal bitterness of German hops – Spalter and Magnum. „Keserű Méz” is a genuine specialty from Fót – north of Budapest – and the first great surprise of the Hungarian Craft-Beer Revolution, kickstarted by the First Hungarian Craft Beer Festival, Főzdefeszt in May 2011. It is an experimental beer, said to create a new beer-style, called HopLager. HopLager is a triple-hopped, strong lager beer – Hungary’s answer to American Pale Ale.
