Malurus | Forest & Main Brewing Company

ABV: 6.0%
Style: American Wild Ale
Actively Produced
Description: Malurus is the product of perhaps the best collaborative brew day ever. We brewed a baby type saison in the regular way, but then added a good dose of freshly smashed Himilayan Salt Lamps. As we racked the ale to the funky oaken puncheons for fermentation, it passed smudging stations of holy white sage. After primary fermentation it was moved to a steel tank with a gentle dose of hibiscus. After a stay, it was racked again, this time onto loads of freshly pressed Carmenere grape skins. A few moons passed, then it was racked again to smaller oak wine barrels, where it rested a while. Lastly, it was put into bottles for a delicate natural refermentation. It comes off like a funky purple ale, a trippy Lambrusco, or the memories of a great day.
