Hannah | Fieldwork® Brewing Company
ABV: 8.6%
Style: Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Garde
Actively Produced
Description: Hannah, our Biere de Garde (a malty, high ABV Belgian-style ale similar to a Saison), was originally brewed in 2014 in honor of our brewery dog of the same name, known for taking breaks from her daily hikes in Tilden Park to hang out and greet our friends at Fieldwork. Hannah, a loyal best friend and inquisitively kind souled dog, left us in the fall of 2016 to take one last hike along the Rainbow Bridge. It is only fitting that the beer named after a dog that would make so many people happy would be one of our most beloved and professionally appreciated beers. Hannah, the beer, uses a blend of base malts from Germany to create a rich malt character that complements its Belgian specialty malts that provide a nice subtle note of torched dates. To create a unique profile, we use a minimal amount of Motueka hops to give notes of lemon zest and fresh-cut grass to play off of the citrusy and earthy nature of the yeast. Raise a tulip of Hannah to its namesake and thank her for the inspiration for a beer almost as intrepid as her. Hops: Motueka
