Stavropol | Confluence Brewing Company
ABV: 9.7%
IBU: 50
Style: Stout - Russian Imperial
Actively Produced
Description: Stavropol Russian Imperial Stout, named for Des Moines' sister city, is inspired from the style originally brewed by the British in the 1800s to win favor with the Russian Czar. This style has been further imperialized by American brewers in recent years but ours is a tribute to the days of old. This strong dark stout has a solid base and is further fortified with oats, roasted barley, dark caramel, black and chocolate malts. Look for a decidedly sweet malty nose, a rich creamy body, with a finish of dry chocolate, intensely caramelized sugars, raisins and a hint of pipe tobacco.
