Faja De Oro | Casa Agria Specialty Ales
ABV: 3.2%
Style: Sour - Berliner Weisse
Actively Produced
Description: Faja De Oro is our sour wheat base beer and is named for the SS Faja de Oro ("Band of Gold"), a civilian tanker sunk by German U-boats which contributed to Mexico joining the Allies in WWII. It is brewed with equal parts pilsner and wheat malt and is mix-fermented with a blend of Saccharomyces, Brettanomyces, and bacteria before being aged in one of our foeders. Inspired by the Berliner Weiss style of Germany, our version of this style is light and refreshing with a mild funk, clean yet prominent tartness and a pronounced wheat backbone.
