Upside Brown | Bent Water Brewing Company
ABV: 5.9%
IBU: 35
Style: Brown Ale - American
Actively Produced
Description: Upside Brown is a dry brown ale offering notes of toast, macadamia nut and chocolate. It was made using the Parti-gyle brewing technique whereby more than one beer is made from a single mash. This centuries-old technique uses the sugary "first runnings" of a mash to make a strong beer, and then uses the "second runnings" of the same mash to produce a second beer. Because the "second runnings" provide less sugar, the result is an entirely different, more mild and lighter colored beer. In this case, Upside Brown is the product of the "second runnings" of a mash that originally produced an imperial stout, which is still conditioning and coming soon!
