Description: The oxidized barleywine base that went into these casks was already ripe with notes of caramel, dark fruit and subtle earthen tones, but there were counterpoints that we still wanted to see in the finished product. The soft vanilla and tannin, imparted by French oak, the lively notes of berry and wine grapes provided by the liqueur and the subtle warmth of alcohol that the barrel lends to this beer all come together to create something that’s incredibly complex, balanced and thoughtful.
