Mango Paletas con Chile Piquin | 5 Rabbit Cervecería
ABV: 3.5%
IBU: 16
Style: Pale Wheat Ale - American
Actively Produced
Description: What captures the fun of summer better than the ding-ding-ding of the popsicle cart and the cool rich of fruity fun, and the joyful brain freeze offered by these simple treats? Paletas means popsicle in Spanish, and the versions most popular in the Latin American community are made with frozen fruit juice in a wide variety of tropical varieties. We thought this would be a perfect inspiration for a line a summer beers. But these are not kiddie treats. In addition to pure, high-quality fruit pulp, we add a number of delicious spices and other flavors that build on the fruits, adding complexity and depth. They'll still a lot of fun, and amazingly quaffable at only 3.5%ABV. A large portion of wheat gives them a lot of smooth, creamy mouthfeel. There's really never been anything like them. We're brewing these as a series, each one different, and when it's gone, we'll brew the next one. At the end of summer they'll vanish, only to reappear next year. We hope to never repeat ourselves. They're meant as summer refreshers - a more sophisticated alternative to one-dimensional shandies and radlers. They're not serious food beers, but they stand up tolerably well to lighter dishes.
